Brief description
https://www.hevercastle.co.uk/hever-attractions/
"Hever Castle’s most famous inhabitant is Anne Boleyn, second wife of King Henry VIII and mother of Queen Elizabeth I, but there have been 37 owners of Hever Castle from 13 different families. Uncover the history of the 13th century castle that was also home to Anne of Cleves, Sir John Fastolf and William Waldorf Astor. Learn more about these people, their families and their time at Hever Castle."
"The oldest part of the Castle is the Medieval Council Chamber in the Gatehouse which dates back to the 13th century. Timber-framed Tudor additions were built in the 15th and 16th centuries by the Boleyn family and can still be seen. Yet, much of what you see today is the result of the remarkable efforts of a wealthy American, William Waldorf Astor, who used his fortune to restore and extend the Castle in the early 20th century. Astor paid great attention to detail and insisted that his workmen used, as far as possible, the same materials and tools as Tudor and Elizabethan craftsmen."
