Accessibility:

There is wheelchair access into the prison. For visitors there is a ramp into the prison and a lift to the locker room and into the visiting area. There is also a level vehicle entrance through to the visitors hall if the lifts are inoperable or unsuitable to a person's needs. A disabled toilet is available in the PACT building prior to entering the visitors hall. HMP Swansea has no on-site parking, however a council car park is directly opposite which has disabled bays. There are no hearing loops installed.

Directions:

From the M4 westbound exit at junction 42 and then take the A483 (Fabian Way), go past the Amazon warehouse, which is on your right-hand side. Go through the next 5 sets of traffic lights (you will pass a Sainsburys on your left at the third set of lights). Go along the sea front, through four further sets of traffic lights. The prison is on your right hand side. OS SS651925.

Wednesday: 9.30am, 13.45pm and 15.15pm
Thursday:9.30am, 13.45pm and 15.15pm
Friday: 09.30am
Saturday: 13.45pm - 14.45pm and 15.15pm - 16.15pm
Sunday: 13.45pm - 14.45pm and 15.15pm - 16.15pm


9.30am visits are 1hr 15minutes in duration.  13.45pm and 15.15pm visits are 1hr in duration.


For 9.30am visits, people attending have to be outside HMP Swansea between 8.45am and 9.15am.  Any later than 9.15am and they would be turned away.


For 13.45pm visits, people attending have to be outside HMP Swansea between 13.00pm and 13.30pm.


For 15.15pm visits, people attending have to be outside HMP Swansea between 14.15pm and 14.45pm.


Transport:

Take any bus to the Quadrant Bus Station, walk to the seafront, cross two sets of traffic lights and the prison is on your right hand side. For public transport information in Wales visit traveline.info

None. There is a Tesco superstore 300 yards east along Oystermouth Road.
