Accessibility:

Hore Abbey is surrounded by fields which do at times contain livestock. There is a footpath leading to the Abbey, but this could be uneven under foot and narrow. There is a kissing gate and five bar gate at the field entrance, which can, at times, be locked, which will limit wheelchair access. There is a small pull in/layby where you can park along the roadside. Please be mindful not to block the gate as this is in use by the stock owner. There are no toilets or amenities at this site.

Brief Description:

A ruined Cistercian monestary near the Rock of Cashel. 'Hore' is thought to derive from 'iubhair' meaning Yew Tree.
