"There is parking available on site for blue badge holders free of charge.

Additional on-street parking (pay at machine) is available in adjacent streets.

In Brighton & Hove, providing the badge and time disc are displayed correctly, you can park in a disabled bay, a pay & display bay and a shared use bay but not in ‘resident permit only’ bays.

Additionally Blue Badge holders with a clock are allowed to park on yellow lines for up to 3 hours provided they are not causing an obstruction and there are no loading restrictions.

There is a drop off point at the main entrance gate on New Church Road, with a dropped kerb.

The surface of the drive is tarmac.

There are 3 steps up to the entrance with handrails on both sides, and a permanent ramp in two parts with gradients of 1:10 and 1:11, also with handrails.

The entrance door is 87cm wide, with double doors in the lobby of 120cm wide.

The entrance doors are not automatic but the staff at the front desk are always ready to offer assistance.

"By foot: From Hove Station, Hove Museum is a 15-20 minute walk.

By bus: Buses 1, 1A, 6, 49 and 49A from Brighton city centre (North Street or Churchill Square) stop near the entrance to Hove Museum. The journey takes approx 20 minutes.

Buses have easy access for boarding and space for 1 wheelchair or any vehicle with a parking brake. Scooters are not permitted.

  • The Brighton and Hove bus timetables are available on-line or in large print.
  • Main bus stops have “real time” information screens for passengers, and most buses have visual and audible announcements of the next stop.
  • Award winning Talking Bus Stops are also available in the city if you are blind or partially sighted. People using the scheme have a battery-operated key fob which alerts them when they are near a talking bus stop. Pressing the fob allows you to receive spoken information on which buses are coming and when they will arrive. There is currently no cafe or catering available in Hove Museum.

Shop: There is a shop selling a range of gifts and crafts/artwork, situated in the main entrance area.

There are tall display units, with staff available to assist if needed.

Grounds and Gardens

Outside there is a large level lawned area.

Paths are level tarmac.

Wooden benches are placed at intervals around the garden
