Accessibility:

Most areas of the zoo are accessible to all via the pathways. Motorised scooters and manual wheelchairs are available to hire. Call ahead on +44 (0) 1534 860000 to book in advance. There are accessible toilets located at the Dodo Restaurant and near the Cloud Forest. These are marked on the zoo's map.

Brief Description:

Durrell Wildlife Park was established in 1959, then known as Jersey zoo. It was opened by Gerald Durrell and is now operated by the Durrell Wildlife conservation trust. It is home to over 130 different species of animals and mainly concentrates on the conservation of rare and endangered species including the Black Lion Tamarin, Pygmy Hogs, Pink Pigeons, Mountain Chicken Frogs, and many more.

Opening Hours:

Open all year round except Christmas day. Summer season 9.30am - 6pm. Winter season 9.30am - 5pm


Directions:

Situated on the north east corner of the Island. 1.4 miles from Bouley Bay via Les Charrieres du Voulay continuing onto Les Vielles Charrieres. At the end of this road turn left onto Rue es Picots. Continue following this road onto La Profonde Rue. Follow this road for approximately 0.4 miles where the wildlife park will be on your right.


Transport:

A door to door shuttle bus service is available directly from St Helier to the wild life park. Running seven days a week with staggered departures from Liberation Square. There is also a free car park with 350 spaces.


Amenities:

The zoo has two main restaurants café Firefly and Dodo Restaurant serving hot and cold foods, hot drinks, along with ice cream parlour. Accessible toilets are located at the Dodo restaurant and cloud forest. There is also a gift shop on site.
