Brief description

Since 1950, the school has occupied Kimbolton Castle (an Historic House, the former seat of the Dukes of Manchester) and its grounds. See https://www.kimbolton.cambs.sch.uk/castle and https://www.kimbolton.cambs.sch.uk/castleopen - Tours & Open Days:

Although the Castle now belongs to Kimbolton School, visitors can still see the impressive range of State Rooms, with an outstanding set of murals by Pellegrini. A small Heritage Room houses a display on the Castle's history. This British historic Castle is set in extensive, wooded grounds, with pleasant walks within rural Cambridgeshire.

Kimbolton Castle is open to groups by arrangement throughout the year, including evenings, although access during Kimbolton School terms is restricted by School usage. During school holidays, requests for mid-week visits can usually be met.

The Castle is also open to the general public from 1pm to 4pm on the dates listed below. Members of Kimbolton Local History Society are on hand as room stewards, and short tours of the exterior take place at regular intervals. For children there are animal, Tudor and Victorian trails, and a dressing-up box is also available." Also see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimbolton_Castle
