Accessibility:

Launceston is easily accessible by road but has some steep hills across many areas of the town. There is a small reserved car park on Duke Street catering for permit and blue badge holders only. Most car parks are on the north east side near Castle Street and Southgate Street. Walkhouse on Tower Street has a disability access toilet.

Brief Description:

Launceston, built across many steep gradients, is one mile west of the river Tamar and is Cornish for ‘church enclosure of St Stephen’. This historic market town, once unofficially referred to as the capital of Cornwall, offers many attractions including a heritage railway, castle, Otter and wildlife centre and extensive shopping areas.

Directions:

Travelling south along the M5 take the exit for the A30 west and the Okehampton bypass. On approaching Launceston on the A30, take the slip road exit for the B3254 and Launceston Western Road. On the roundabout take the exit for Western Road north to Launceston.
