There is limited parking in the village. There are no public toilets – the closest will be at the nearest pub. There is a small step into church.  Guide dogs are welcome.


Are available at Chieveley, a large village 3 miles SE, or Newbury, 8 miles South, which have a range of places to eat, drink and stay in the surrounding area.

Brief Description:

St. James, built in 1859, is situated on the downs between Wantage and Newbury. Brick and flint church was designed by S.S.Teulon and provides a welcoming and unusual setting for worship. There is a special area in the church for the youngest members of our congregation should they wish to use it.
