The cathedral is situated at the top of a steep hill, with level approaches from Castle Square and Eastgate. This is the historic core of the city, and areas are paved with a mixture of modern York flagstones and cobblestones. The Walk & Ride ‘Steep Hill Shuttle’ bus is the easy way to get around Lincoln and the quickest way up the hill, with 13 stops across the city.

Around 85% of the Cathedral and its grounds are accessible by wheelchair.

General accessibility information:

• Externally there are steps (fitted with hand rails) and ramps to enter and exit the cathedral.

• Internally the cathedral is accessible via ramps, (with the exception of the side chapels).

• Hearing loops are installed at various points in the cathedral, denoted by signage.

• Accessible toilets are available, along with baby changing facilities."
