Accessibility:

There is very limited metered on-street parking in the surrounding streets with the nearest car park available around ten minutes away (on foot) in Abbotsbury Road (W8 6LU), where there are three disability spaces available, and their are 2 on-street. Disability blue badge parking bays on Phillmore Walk by its junction with Argyle Road, but these are heavily used.

There are five stone steps to negotiate to reach the main front door and, if the entrance is via the basement - as can happen when the house is closed for refurbishment, there are at least eight stone steps to negotiate downwards.

There are no toilets within the venue. The nearest public toilets are at Kensington Town Hall, Hornton Street, which are wheelchair-accessible.

There is a Shopmobility service in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea; for further details please see the following website: http://nfsuk.org/listings/kensington-and-chelsea-shopmobility/

Sadly, there is no Shopmobility motorised scooter hire West of the the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in central London, however, all of the latest-built taxes and buses must be disability-accessible.  The one exception to this is the No.15 London heritage route which runs with the iconic old AEC Routemaster double-decker bus (built between the 1950s and 1960s) which has a rear open entrance to enable passengers to get on and off quickly.

Brief Description:

18 Stafford Terrace was the home of Edward Linley Sambourne, the Punch cartoonist, and his family and servants. As well as offering an insight into their personal lives it is an example of a late 19th century 'Aesthetic interior' style house that used many exotic influences for its decoration. This can be seen by the various Japanese, Middle-Eastern and Chinese objects throughout the Sambournes' home. The house has remained preserved by the family and, in 1980, it was opened to the public by the Victorian Society with ownership passing to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in 1989.

The tunnel is a river crossing to the east of London which links the north and south of the M25 orbital motorway.  Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) automatically identifies the registration number plate of these vehicles so that their owners do not need to take any additional action.
