Accessibility

"We are fully accessible with a lift and Disabled WC’s, and our lift has braille buttons, and our colours scheme is dementia friendly. There are extra wide doorways and plenty of seating. Should you need a to bring an accessibility dog then this is fine. If you want to be accompanied, then one of our volunteers will be on hand or if you have your own carer/support worker then they get free admission.

If you are neurodivergent and have sensitivity to light or sound, then we can adjust to suit make you comfortable – the Curator would just require notice in case we have a school/ or group. Some of our volunteers are for example autistic/neurodivergent so we are used to adjusting to suit individual requirements.

If you require any further information please email or call."

Brief description

"The Museum collections total 9,000 artefacts, these fall into 5 broad areas covering natural history and geology, local decorative and fine art, social history, and military history. Together the collections build a picture of the development of our seaside resort from the prehistoric age to current day affairs. We are considered to have a selection of some of the finest archaeological collections held in an independent museum in Wales. Our exhibits reflect a truly international collection that is rare and distinctive for such a small regional Museum.

Our museum was founded by Francis Edouard Chardon in 1925 who bequeathed his home, Rapallo House, and his collection of decorative and fine arts and artifacts to Llandudno for the enjoyment of the people. We intend to establish Llandudno Museum and Gallery as a key all-weather heritage attraction in North Wales. Find Out More "

Biodiversity Garden: Llandudno Museum’s Biodiversity Garden is here to help you recognise and love your native plants and wildlife. WildlifeTrusts.org says: “Our gardens are a vital resource for wildlife, providing corridors of green space between open countryside, allowing species to move about. In fact, the UK’s gardens provide more space for nature than all the National Nature Reserves put together.” By working with our native plants, we can create a garden that is a haven to ourselves and to native wildlife. Natural ecosystems have a wide diversity of plants, birds, animals, and organisms. Biodiversity gardening is choosing to grow local plants that encourage local bugs, birds, and mammals to choose our garden as a home.

We offer a range of classes, biodiversity walks, and conservation information. Our Biodiversity Garden features a green grow pod so that you can sit and be surrounded by plants, a butterfly garden, a chill out zone, and information about how to transform your own garden into a biodiversity garden.

If you would like to work with us on a Nature Conservation Project, please contact our Community and Education Officer "
