Brief Description:
Llanwrtyd Wells is the smallest town in Wales. The town is most famous for the discovery of mineral water at Dolycoed by Reverend Theophilus Evans. In 1732, he discovered a rather healthy-looking frog sitting in a well, he deduced that the water the frog had been living in might have some medicinal qualities. Very soon the sulphuric spring at Dolycoed was a destination for health tourists from all over Britain.
