Details
Accessibility:
At the head of the lake is a small parking area with an information board. The roads are generally narrow with only a few opportunities to stop and view the scenery and there are no designated paths.
Abandoned mine workings are, by their very nature, dangerous and unstable areas so should be avoided/viewed from a distance.
Brief Description:
Llyn Frongoch, a small lake in the hills around two miles southwest of Pontarfynach, was created in 1902 by Lord Lisburn to supply water to the nearby lead works.
The valley surrounding the lake is peppered with abandoned mine workings.
