Accessibility:

There is limited non-disability parking available on the drive immediately leading to the building.There is a short slope leading onto a flat path to the Meeting House door. The door is on flat ground with no step.  There are no toilets available. The nearest public disability toilets are in nearby Axminster. 


Brief Description:


Near to Axminster and the village of Darwood, Loughwood is a beautiful thatched 17th century Baptist meeting house. The earliest historical references to it are from 1653. It has been owned by the National Trust since 1969.

Directions:

From the direction of the Honiton Bypass travelling east or from the direction of Axminster on the A358 travelling west, join and continue along the A35. Take the north turn into Loughwood Lane off the A35. The turn is marked by a large thatched cottage visible from the road and on the small junction. The meeting house is on the west side of the lane.
