Accessibility:

There is a designated parking area for disability users. Fully accessible toilets at different points throughout, as well as a changing facilities. Alternative viewing points specifically designed for better access. Wide aisles in gift shop for wheelchair users. Free road trains, one of which has an accessible carriage for one standard wheelchair. There are a limited amount of manual wheelchairs to hire free of charge with deposit. Call ahead on 01962 777407, 24 hours in advance to reserve. A hearing loop is available at the seating area for the Ring Tailed Coatis talks. Assistance dogs are welcome, however there are restrictions in certain areas.


Brief Description:

Marwell Zoo is a charity run organisation, set in 140 acres of land. Founded by John Knowles in 1972, it houses a wide variety of animals including Humboldt Penguins, Amur Tigers, Snow Leopards, Pygmy Hippos, Cheetahs, Meerkats and many more.

Opening Hours:

Open all year round except for Christmas day and boxing day. Open from 10am until 4pm,5pm and 6pm depending on season.

Ticket Prices: Under 3 Free, 3-16 yrs £11.50. Adults £15. One carer free with each paying guest. Family tickets also available.


Directions:

Situated 6.5 miles SE of Winchester. Joining M3, heading W and exit M3 at Junction 11. Turning left onto B3335/Coxs Hill. At Twyford turn left onto Bourne Lane and at T-junction turn left onto Hazeley Road. In 0.1 miles turn right onto Mare Lane and at cross roads continue straight over onto Whites Hill. At the next junction turn right onto Whaddon Lane and entrance to the zoo will be on your right hand side. OS SU 502214.


Transport:

The closest railway station is Eastleigh, 5 miles from the zoo. A bus service runs from Eastleigh station directly to the zoo. Taxi services are also available, and there is ample parking.
