Brief description
"Middleham Castle is one of Yorkshire’s strongest fortresses set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Its core is an immense Norman keep, one of the biggest in England. Around it the powerful Neville family built three ranges of luxurious chambers, making Middleham the 15th-century ‘Windsor of the North’.
There’s a lot to explore at the castle, from a multi-storied toilet tower and a horse-powered mill to the keep’s lofty viewing platform, with views over Wensleydale."
