Its collections and functions have transitioned to the upcoming National Civil War Centre at Appletongate. Housed in the striking former Trent Navigation warehouse and maltings (c.1870). Exhibits once showcased over 70,000 items spanning archaeology, costume, natural history, Civil War, social history and more. Situated on the banks of the River Trent, offering a picturesque riverside "setting.
