There are two designated disability parking spaces available to the left of the building accessed through the public parking area, a bicycle parking rack is also available for use. Entrance to the Institute is via a drop down pavement and automatic doors. There is a lift to the upper floor.
Brief description:
Grade II Listed building, built in 1929. The Miner's Welfare Institute was originally set up and funded by contributions made by miners paying 1d (one penny pre-decimal, 1971) per week towards the cost of construction. The Institute offers football, cricket, bowling green facilities, Social area and a small museum. The museum gives an insight into the life and workings of miners and the mining industry in and around Llay.
