Brief description

"The Minster Church of St Mary the Virgin is the oldest and most historically significant church in Reading, Berkshire. Believed to have Saxon origins dating back to around the 7th century, the current structure mainly reflects 11th to 15th-century architecture, with later additions and restorations.

Located in the heart of Reading, just off the town centre, the Minster Church has long served as a focal point of worship and community. It features beautiful stonework, medieval stained glass, and a peaceful churchyard. Inside, you'll find a blend of ancient and modern features, including a Norman font and a 17th-century pulpit.

As the town’s civic church, it remains active with regular services, concerts, and events, offering a quiet retreat amid the busy urban surroundings. It's also a Grade I listed building, reflecting its architectural and historical importance."
