On flat land by the roadside. In a rural location so no amenities or toilets in the immediate vicinity.

Brief Description:

This viewpoint is on the north side of the A24, 4 miles west of the centre of Douglas. It provides an excellent view of the central range of mountains that lie in between South Barrule, the highest point in the South of the Isle of Man, and Snaefell in the North.

Situated at OS SC329765. This viewpoint is on the north side of the A24, 4 miles west of the centre of Douglas. There is a car park 1/3 mile West of the viewpoint on the south side of the A24, at Chilbanagh Plantation.

Amenities:

The viewpoint is 4 miles west, on the A24, of the centre of Douglas where there is a wide-range of amenities. Closer by just over one mile east on the A24, on the north-western outskirts of Douglas, there is a café with toilets, disability toilet and nappy changing facilities at Riley's Garden Centre (please see the venue entry for this on our website) and 500 yards further, just off the A24, on the way to Douglas is the Spring Valley Snack Bar (please see the venue entry for this on our website) doing hot and cold food at the Spring Valley Industrial Estate, but it has no toilets.

There are also some amenities at the village of Foxdale (please see the venue entry for this on our website) which is 4 miles north east on the A24.
