Accessibility:
This is a venue where care has been taken to preserve the industrial setting and interiors of the buildings, so special care must be taken. There are 2 disability toilets. Although sited on a level surface, care must be taken as this comprises slate flagstones, slate chippings, and some of these are intersected by narrow gauge railway lines used by the former quarry locomotives, and link chains separate off areas not open to the public. Access to the terrace of former quarry workers’ cottages is restricted, with a step up to each cottage, and steep stairs to reach their first floors. There is a lift with a capacity of 8 people to take visitors to the viewing area of the large outdoor waterwheel which once powered the site. See https://museum.wales/slate/visit/accessibility-national-slate-museum/
