Brief Description:
Neath is a town located to the north east of Swansea in south Wales on the banks of the River Neath. There has been a settlement here since at least the Roman times and it has historically always been an important crossing point of the river. It was a market town that expanded with the coming of the Industrial Revolution.
The town centre is on the east side of the river and includes a central shopping area with pedestrianised zones, shops, pubs, banks, etc. There are also the usual services afforded to a large town like a large leisure centre, railway station, bus station, chapels, churches, town hall, Gwyn Hall, parks and car parks.
