Accessibility:

The zoo is accessible to all, although some paths are steep. Disability toilets are located neat the children's play area and at the main entrance. There is a car park situated opposite the zoo, with allocated disability parking spaces. Assistance dogs are welcome, but must be wearing an assistance dog jacket. There is no wheelchair hire at the zoo, however manual and motorised wheelchairs can be hired from the Newquay Tourist Information Centre. Call ahead on 01637 854020 to book and hire.  

Brief Description:

Newquay Zoo opened in 1969. At this time it only had a small number of animals, including Lions, Bears, Leopards and Flamingos. It has expanded over the years and now has around 130 different species including Wildebeest, Penguins, Macaws, Zebras, Armadillos, Civets, Fossas and many more. It is set in 13 acres of land.

Directions:

Situated 6 miles N of Goonhavern. Head N on A3075/Newquay Road  for 5.2 miles. At roundabout take first exit onto Trevemper Road. Take 2nd exit at next roundabout onto A3058. Continue on this road and the zoo will be sign posted. OS SW 820613.

Transport:

Buses operate in and around the area, with stops located on Edgcumbe Avenue. Easily accessible via car, with car park situated opposite zoo.

There is a café and a snack bar at the zoo serving hot and cold foods, snacks and drinks. Picnic areas are available for anyone wishing to take their own food. Disability toilets on site.
