Brief description
"Parc Howard Museum is a majestic Bath stone villa surrounded by beautiful gardens. Its displays tell the fascinating story of a remarkable town, its people, character and events. It is also home to the largest public collection of Llanelli Pottery and works of art by and of Llanelli subjects.
2024: Extensive renovations have transformed Parc Howard Museum into a place of discovery and wonder. It's a family-friendly museum with community and creativity at its heart.
The ground floor reopened to visitors in December 2023 after two years of refurbishments and the first floor reopened in spring 2024. The exhibitions unveiled were created through community projects, highlighting stories of Llanelli’s people.
The stunning Italianate mansion house itself also had a makeover. The iconic tower, roof and porch were restored and systems upgraded throughout. There's also a welcoming and accessible visitor reception with a gift shop stuffed full of playful presents and locally-sourced souvenirs. It's also the place to go to find hot drinks, snacks, and ice creams.
Carmarthenshire County Council and Llanelli Town Council have funded the ambitious project and continue to work together to deliver a fun and inclusive visitor experience for all. "
