Accessibility:

Access via a gravel pathway accessible for wheelchairs, and most of the site is level throughout. Limited parking of only approximately 5 parking spaces within 300 metres of the monument. No dedicated disability spaces available. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult. Assistance dogs only. No toilets on site.

Brief Description:

The most popular megalithic site in Wales. This monument dates back to to about 3500 BC and stands on the slopes of a ridge commanding extensive views over the Nevern Valley. The stones of the chamber are all of local igneous rock.

Opening Hours:

Daily 10.00am – 4.00pm. Last admission 30 minutes before closing. Closed 24/25/26 December and 1st January.

Directions:

From Newport, head East along the A487. After passing Llwyngwair Manor on your left, take the next right turn sign posted 'PentreIfan'. Go straight on at the cross roads for another quarter of a mile. Keep following signs for 'Pentre Ifan'. After approximately half a mile there is a lay-by on your right. Park here and the entrance to Pentre Ifan Comlech is at the lower end of the lay-by. OS SN 079 367.
