Brief description
Portadown is a town in County Armagh. Founded in the early 17th century during the Plantation of Ulster, it is today certainly worth a visit. Alongside its historic Town Hall and its in-house theatre, Portadown is also home to Ardress House. This 17th-century farmhouse is today owned by the National Trust and offers an insight into life in centuries past with guided tours, walks and recreations of life on an historic farm.

Directions
Portadown lies south of Lough Neagh and is just a half hour's drive to Belfast. It is also close to Craigavon and the historic city of Armagh.

Portadown has a Train Station and good transport links and can be a useful travel hub for travelling across the east of Northern Ireland, with trains going to Belfast and Bangor. Additionally, there is also a train service to Dublin's Connolly Station.
