The Kilmadock Information and Heritage Centre is owned and managed by the Kilmadock Development Trust (KDT) Registered in Scotland, company number 210142. Scottish Charity number SC030459. It was formed on 18 August 2000, from Stirling Council’s then ‘Community Futures’ programme for Doune and Deanston. It was a Kilmadock Community Council creation, which saw the need for a fund-raising organisation, which the KCC, as a consultative body, was not empowered to do.
The Trust has gone about achieving its aim by acting as a catalyst for many of the local groups within the community, and over the past ten years gathering the support of more than 100 active local volunteers. The Trust is a membership organization, with over 160 members. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or has an interest in the Kilmadock area. The Trust is managed by a board of Directors, all of whom are elected at an Annual General Meeting.
The Trust is a registered charity, and in the ten years since its formation has raised over £500,000 for projects benefiting the community.
If you would like to get further involved in community or heritage activities pop into the KDT, give us a call or email kdtrust@btconnect.com. Anyone who lives or works in approx a five mile radius of Doune is eligible to become a member for a one-off fee of £1. If you would like to join, please complete an Application Form from the Information Centre."
