Brief description

The museum is based in and around a  former Victorian pumping station built in 1885 and in use until the late 1960s. https://walthamstowpumphouse.org.uk/history

Among its exhibits are a pair of Marshall steam pumping engines, various historic vehicles, train carriages, a model railway and fire fighting equipment and models. Directions

The museum is in the district of Walthamstow, North East London. From the A1006 turn into Markhouse Avenue and the museum is on the left just after the mini roundabout.

Sundays.

April to October: 11am to 4pm

November to March: 11am to 3pm
Last entry is half an hour before closing time.

Nearest Underground:  Blackhorse Road (Victoria Line) a 15 minute walk

Nearest Mainline: St James Street (South Eastern) - a 7 minute walk.

                             Lea Bridge Road (Greater Anglia) a 10 minute walk.

Bus: Number W19 bus from Walthamstow Bus Station towards Argall Avenue, runs every half hour and stops near the museum.
