Accessibility:

There is limited parking at the beach head, and at the local pub. There are toilets at the beach. Guide dogs are welcome.

Brief Description:

Pwllgwaelod is a small scattered hamlet centred on a bay on the south-western side of the Dinas Island peninsula. It is a small cove of dark sand and shingle looking out across the bay to Fishguard.

Directions:

Pwllgwaelod Beach is at Dinas Cross which is approx. 15 miles to the South West of Cardigan via the A487 and approx. 4 miles to the North East of Fishguard, again via the A487. OS  SN 009395.

Transport:

There is a regular bus service around Cardigan and Fishguard.

Amenities:

There is a pub/restaurant/café near the beach, that Dylan Thomas was known to visit on occasions. A good choice of hotels, B&Bs, guest house, caravan and camping sites can be found in the area. Newport is the biggest village locally, providing shops, cafes, restaurants and cycle hire.
