Accessibility:

RADAR key needed to access the disability toilets. Hearing aid loop available. Only stairs access to first floor of museum, wheelchair users have reduced ticket costs due to being unable to access the first floor. Sizeable step required to access alternate "Secret's Out" gallery area.


Brief Description:

A historic house museum, originally built in 1660 by William Taylor. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Opening Hours:

From 1st March to 31st October, the museum is open from 11am to 5pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays and closed on Mondays and Fridays.

From 1st November to 28th February, the museum is open from 11am to 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12pm to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays and closed on Mondays and Fridays.

Admission costs £2.50 for adults, £1.00 for children and £6.00 for a family ticket.

Red House Museum is located on the west side of the A651 road (Oxford Road), near to Gomersal First School.

Transport:

There is a free car park right near to the Red House Museum, outside Gomersal Public Hall, with limited disabled spaces available.

The nearest rail station is in Batley, approximately 3.7 miles away. There is a bus stop just outside the car park on both sides of the road, with services running to and from Leeds and Huddersfield.
