Brief description
"Reigate is a historic town in Surrey, England. It is in the London commuter belt and one of three towns in the borough of Reigate and Banstead.
Nestled at the foot of the North Downs, which provides a magnificent back drop, the town is home to a range of independent shops including antiques, craft, clothing boutiques, furniture and gift war, which retains a village feel.
Reigate's earliest history can be traced back to the result of the Battle of Hastings. Victorious William the Conqueror awarded the land as part of a generous grant to one of his principal knights, William de Warenne - Earl of Surrey in 1088."

Amenities
"The magnificent Reigate Hill and Gatton Park stretches across the North Downs is good walking country with flower-sprinkled grasslands and quiet shady woods. A lovely spot too for family picnics and games.
The town also boasts the beautiful Priory Park, which offers 200 acres of open space and woodland, a fantastic children’s playground and modern pavilion café.
Sitting proud at the top of the Hill is the 19th-century Reigate Fort. The fort commands a historic defensive position looking out over the weald towards the South Downs.
For sports fans there are four tennis courts, a skatepark, cricket square, croquet lawn, football pitches and multiuse games area."
