Brief Description:
Rendlesham is a small village near to the Suffolk coast and lying between Ipswich and Norwich. The village is in 2 parts: a rural area around the old parish church and old village, accessed from a minor road, Ash Road, running in a northerly direction of the A1152, and the built-up area of the new village further along, and just off, the A1152 which includes a community centre, primary school and Costcutter foodstore. Ivy Lodge is in a rural part of Rendlesham Northeast of the village at OS TM349 541 on the B1069, and viewable from the roadside. It is a 19th-Century gatehouse to Rendlesham Hall (now demolished) and was built as a medieval-looking ruined folly.

Directions:
Rendlesham is 15 miles/24 kilometres north east of Ipswich. From Ipswich join the A12 travelling north to the town of Woodbridge, and exit onto the A1152 east for ‘Melton’. Continue through Melton and follow the road north into Rendlesham.
