Brief description

https://www.facebook.com/RiversideBaptistChurchPortTalbot/

"In 1865, a small number of English Baptists began to meet at Trinity Church between Aberavon and  Cwmavon.  Their numbers grew and in 1871 the Rev Thomas Richards was invited by the then Glamorgan and Carmarthen English Baptist Association to establish an English Baptist Church at Trinity.  Their numbers grew;  Trinity became too small for them and they began to meet in the old Town  Hall in Aberavon before building a new Church in Water Street in 1877.

1877     Water Street English Baptist Church built

1901     Church renovated and enlarged, including a new gallery

1974     Church demolished during the town redevelopment

1975     Riverside English Baptist Church opened in Port Talbot.

We are part of the wider Baptist Family and are members of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the South Wales Baptist Association. We are in partnership with Jerusalem Baptist Church, Briton Ferry. "
