Accessibility:

There are 4 parking bays for blue badge holders on the Forbury Road (please be aware that these are often in use).  

The Riverside Museum display and the Turbine House are accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues. There is step free access to the Riverside Museum and a small ramp with handrail to access the Turbine House. Please note you may need to ask for assistance opening the Turbine House door prior to entering. One of the Bel & Dragon staff or a resident artist should be available to help.

Please be aware that the approach to the Riverside Museum from the car park by the Bel & Dragon has an uneven cobbled surface. The flooring in the Turbine House also has uneven wooden flooring.

Directions:

From the M4 Junction 10 follow the A329M towards the A4 and town centre. From M4 Junction 11 follow the A33 towards the town centre and from M4 Junction 12 follow the A33 bypass to north of the town centre, and then take the A329 in a south easterly direction which becomes Forbury Rd, and at the 3rd roundabout by Forbury Retail Park turn into Kenavon Drive. The Riverside Museum is situated on the north bank of the River Kennet, and is accessed by road from Kenavon Drive, which runs to the east of Forbury Road. Car parking for the Museum is available at its neighbouring venue,  Bel and the Dragon restaurantOrdnance Survey Number: SU725735

April to September: Open daily 10am - 6pm  ​Admission is FREE. Closed: October to March

It is opened by its partners at the neighbouring  Bel and the Dragon restaurant.  There is a McDonald's and other shops at Forbury Retail Park on Kenavon Drive, Reading RG1 3HS, and more amenities in the centre of Reading where the main Reading Museum is situated.
