The car park is level, well-maintained and constructed of either tarmac or compacted gravel. It is free for Disability Blue Badge holders.

There are 2 ways to access the museum, both offering shallow-ramps. There is a small (<1 inch) upward lip at the start of the ramp leading from the road. The museum, shop and café are all wheelchair-accessible with a lift to the first floor of the museum located next to the reception desk.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor next to the reception desk.

A wheelchair is available for free loan and an induction loop is fitted at the reception desk. Magnifiers are available on request from reception and assistance dogs are welcome.

"There is level access once inside the building to the Reception Desk, and a lift to the first floor.

The Café is accessible directly from the entrance to the Museum on the Ground floor.

The Reception Desk provides your first contact with our staff, who will be able to assist you in your visit. The Reception desk is fitted with an Induction Loop. Seats are available in the reception area and in the galleries. All of our galleries are fully accessible by wheelchair. The lift to the first floor is just by the reception desk

All toilets, including accessible toilets, and baby changing facilities are on the ground floor. The first available toilets are to be found next to the Reception desk as you enter the Museum.

In the case of an evacuation the need to leave the building will be signalled by audio sounders, flashing lights, and a voice over system. Staff will specifically seek out any visitors who need assistance, and give them extra support in leaving the building."

Brief Description:

The museum is housed in award-winning contemporary buildings on the banks of the river in Henley-on-Thames. It houses 4 permanent collections - including interactive displays - with a temporary gallery on the ground floor housing a rotating mix of exhibitions throughout the year. The buildings are also available for hire as a wedding and function venue.

Directions:

From the M4: Take J8/9, take the A404(M)/A308(M) exit and at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto A404(M) toward High Wycombe/Henley/Maidenhead. Continue on A404 for around 3 miles then take the exit towards Hurley/Henley/A4130/Burchetts Green and merge onto Henley Road. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Henley Rd/A4130 for around 5 miles. Turn left onto Thameside, then turn left again onto Meadow Road. The car park and museum are clearly signposted from the road.

From the M40: Take J4 and head south on A404 for around 6 miles, then take the exit towards Hurley/Henley/A4130/Burchetts Green and merge onto Henley Road. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Henley Road/A4130 for around 5 miles. Turn left onto Thameside, then turn left again onto Meadow Road. The car park and museum are clearly signposted from the road.
