Details
Accessibility
Saltburn Pier is accessible from the boardwalk along the beachfront. It is a flat wooden structure with no steps but to get to the pier you have to either walk through an amusement arcade or walk round the outside of three small connected red and white buildings.
Brief description
Saltburn Pier built in 1867 is a wooden hardwood decking structure supported by ironwork that leads 460 metres into the sea. There are railings on all sides and excellent views all along, and leads into the viewing area at the end. It is the only surviving pier in Yorkshire. The pier won the prestigious award "Pier of the Year" in 2009.
