Accessibility:
Schloss Gottorf has its own car park, which is very close to the entrance of the museums. Although the driveway and car park is cobbled you are able to drive to the museum doors. There are staff on hand willing to assist (situated at the main entrance to the castle). There is a lift to the upper floors of the museums and toilets are located on the south façade of the castle.
Brief Description:
Schloss Gottorf, or Castle Gottorf, is presently home to the Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte (State Museum for Art and Cultural History) – with art collections from the Middle Ages to modern times – and the Archaeological State Museum’s collection of over three million artefacts through the history of northern Europe from the Stone Age until the Middle Ages.
