A long lane leads you to the Abbey where there is a parking area at the front of the church. A latched gate leads you onto a concrete pathway that is on a slight incline. The church is sat on slightly raised undulating ground. If the building should be locked on your arrival, there is a notice that gives full information on who to contact.
Brief Description:
Located in an isolated setting of a former monastery. A noteworthy Norman and medieval church, with fine external features and later Victorian additions. It is a grade I listed building dating back to 1170. It was restored in 1868, and had its chancel rebuilt. There is also a holy well situated in the grounds of the church which is traditionally thought to have healing qualities. It is known as being the birth place of St Gilbert, founder of the religious order of the Gilbertines.

8 miles north of Bourne. From a small crossroads on the B1177, there is a driveable track eastwards to the Gwenllian Memorial and then to the church car park.
