Shoeburyness East Beach

❰ View on Map Updated: 4 years ago

Good access from public roads and pavements.  Steps down to beach itself at the the SW end but, towards NW end, there is a more direct access from grassed area  but ground uneven and awkward unless able-footed.  Wheelchair access not possible onto the beach but is available to the grassed areas, pushchairs would need to be lifted onto beach.

Brief description:

Beach and grassed recreational area to the east of Southend-on-Sea.  Popular with families and kite surfers.

Beach accessible via George Street, Shoeburyness at the SW end and via Blackgate Road, Shoeburyness at the NE end.

Follow A13 into Shoeburyness. At the very end of the A13 where it meets the B1016, turn SE (left turn) into Campfield Road (it is signposted East Beach).  Continue on Campfield Road to end (it does change into Smith Street just after you pass Hinguar Street and before you reach the end T junction), turn left (NE) into High Street and immediately right (SE) into George Street.  Access to East Beach car park is at the end of George Street, turning left into the car park.

The B1016 running along Southend seafront will take you to the junction with the A13 in Shoeburyness where you turn SE but right coming from that opposite direction into Campfield Road, then follow directions as above.
