"Welcome to the website and the South Wales Police Heritage Centre which brings the history of policing in South Wales back to life. From the Celtic age to present day, we tell the fascinating stories of South Wales’ officers through the decades. Explore the kit of a Victorian constable; discover the tough duties of Glamorgan officers in World War I, and uncover some of the weapons used against police. Our galleries contain a range of artefacts, including police equipment and uniform from years gone by, such as handcuffs, radios and the decorated dress uniforms of 19th century Chief Constables. There is also a Charge Room to book people into custody at our museum, as well as a cell for any law-breaking guests! "

"The Heritage Centre is located on the secure site of the Police Headquarters; therefore visits are by prior arrangement only. Visitors will be asked to bring photographic ID to gain access to the site.

There is lift access to the basement where the Heritage Centre is located.

The site was originally built in the late 1930s for WWII and was the biggest munitions factory in the UK at its peak of production."
