Brief description
"St. Andrew's is a historic, Grade II* listed church, situated on the banks of the River Teme in the small Shropshire village of Ashford Bowdler. St. Andrew's Church is in the Church of England Diocese of Hereford and one of the 6 Churches which make up the Benefice of Ashford, which together are served by Reverend Lynn Money.
The Church was founded in 1211 in the grounds of the Benedictine Priory of Bromfield. When it was originally built, St. Andrew's was at some distance from the River Teme; however centuries of erosion to the banks of the River Teme led to the Chancel of the church collapsing into the river in 1906; after which the Chancel was rebuilt. Further restoration had to be carried out at the start of the 21st century to safeguard the Church from collapsing into the river."
