2025:
"Welcome to St Denys' Church.
Founded 792AD. Present Church built from 1060.
This glorious village church is a symbol of the sturdy men of Sussex who built it long ago. The whole pageant of English history for 1200 years is bound up with this church; the forest men, the Norman soldiers, the hunted fugitives, peasants and farmers, the iron workers and the service men and women who prayed in this church in the dark days of two world wars. It now gives our people comfort, joy, fellowship and purpose in their lives.
The church you see is not a relic of a dead past, it is a meeting place of the people of the living present who come to worship God as their ancestors have done for 1200 years.
The Benefice of St Denys' Rotherfield with Mark Cross became "The Parish of Rotherfield with Mark Cross" in December 2024."

"Gluten free: We always have gluten free refreshments available as well as gluten free communion wafers. Please let us know your needs.
Toilets: There is one toilet in the church on the right as you arrive.
Stained glass: The earliest stained glass in the church is at the top of the east window in the Nevill Chapel where fragments of 14th century glass can be seen, some of the earliest known in Sussex. It is the late 19th century Pre-Raphaelite glass in the fine 14th century east window of the chancel that is of special art-historical interest. It was mainly designed by Sir Edward Burne Jones. It was made in 1878 by William Morris who also designed the foliage and the figure of St Barnabas in the bottom right corner. All the branches of the foliage spring from a single root, the whole design of which represents the Tree of Jesse - the lineage of Christ.
Eco church: We are progressing well towards our Bronze Award from Eco Church and in 2020 planted wildflowers around the churchyard. Part of our Mission Action Plan for 2020-2025 focusses on developing our churchyard project and promoting eco awareness throughout everything we do.
Listed building: St Denys' Church is grade one listed. There are beautiful wall paintings and a Byrne Jones stained glass window at the east end.
Open for individual prayer: Usually from 9 til dusk winter time or approximately 5pm in summer months
