"The church was built in the early 20th century as St. Samson’s, to serve the upper end of Grangetown in Cardiff. In 1969, the dedication was changed in include St. Dyfrig, the name of a recently demolished church nearby. St. Samson's inherited many of the decorative features from St. Dyfrig’s."
