Brief description

https://www.newbrightonheritagecentre.org.uk/about-us  "The Heritage Centre is based in St James's church on Albion Street, New Brighton, Wirral.  Today we are a volunteer-based Community Group located within St James's Church New Brighton.

The Centre was founded by Rusty Keane and opened in July 2011 at 90 Victoria Road. In 2014, we moved up the road to our present home in St James's Church. The Church is a Grade II listed building. Its appointed architect was Sir George Gilbert Scott and the foundation stone was laid in 1854.

Although the Heritage Centre is a separate organisation to the Church, the synergy between our work and that of the church history is clear to see.

Our entrance is via the Albion Street door, which is accessible for our disabled visitors. Admission is free but donations are always welcome. These can be the offer of time, display material or monetary.  The Heritage Centre is an accredited Place of Welcome. We belong to a network based in a variety of locations such as community centres, libraries and places of worship where people can connect, belong and contribute. We are open to everyone and can offer:

Friendship and hospitality

Regular opening (same times each week)

Free refreshments

Local knowledge.

We also have a summer outreach project - The Visitor Information Point - which is situated in Marine Park, opposite Marine Point. It is located in the pavilion next to the tennis courts and is open at weekends in the summer months."
