Brief Description:

The sixth largest football stadium in the United Kingdom. Located in the centre of Newcastle, its white cantilever roof, the largest in Europe, is visible across the city. It has a capacity of over 52,000.

Besides Premier League football, St. James' Park has also been used for international football, as a football venue for the 2012 Olympics. The stadium was also used as a rugby venue for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. In addition to professional football, the stadium has hosted charity football events and rock concerts, and been used as a set for film and reality television.

Opening Hours:

Box office – Monday to Friday 10am till 5pm. Saturday 9am till 4pm. Closed Sundays.


Directions:

Situated 5.5 miles SW of Wallsend. Heading North on Park Road, turn left onto North Road and then right onto A186 and continue until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A1058/Coast Road. On reaching Newcastle Upon Tyne, keep right as the road forks and follow the signs for A167(M), which this road will merge onto. Continue on A167(M) and in approximately 300ft take the exit for B1318/City Centre. At roundabout take the 1st exit onto the B1318. At second roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Queen Victoria Road. Continue on this road and on reaching a small roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Leazes Lane/Terrace Place and finally Strawberry Place, where you will see the stadium before you.

Bus services operate in and around the area, with bus stops along Strawberry Place.

Newcastle Central Station is approximately a 10 minute walk from the stadium and the Tyne and Wear Metro system (light rail network) operates with stations all around the stadium.
