Accessibility

"Along two sides of a field on a grassy track from the lane to a level gravel path in the churchyard leading to the North chancel door. Generally flat by the edge of the field, is slippery in wet conditions.

Level access to the wide west door. There is one step down to the nave. The church is a considerable distance across a field from the road, with little parking."

Brief description

"The church is said to have been founded by a Celtic saint, St Ridol, and the dedication to St John the Baptist is thought to date from the Norman period. Rescued from ruin in 1921, it has a beautiful rustic Medieval interior.

The nave has a twelfth-century window in its north wall, while the other windows here are from the fourteenth century. The impressive south window in the chancel is clearly later, probably dating from around 1400."
