"We take seriously our call to be a parish church, serving not just the Christian community, but all who live in Stansted Mountfitchet.

We have hosted a variety of events at the church for the community as a whole, including music concerts and Christmas fairs. On Remembrance Sunday, the war memorial in the grounds of St John’s is the focus of our common civic life.

We maintain good relationship with community groups. Our weekly coffee morning takes place at the Touchpoint-run community café on Crafton Green, and is an opportunity for church members to interact with the wider community. We also support Let’s Talk Stansted, an initiative to promote good mental health, and have hosted a Well Being festival in the church in the past.

We also maintain a good relationship with St Mary’s school in Stansted: we are involved at a governance level, and also on the ground, with assemblies and educational visits."

Directions

"By car, you can follow the A120 and then onto the B1383. You can also come round the back of Stansted airport, via Round Coppice Road, Bury Lodge Lane, and Church Road.

We have a small car park, but there are parking restrictions on St John's Road itself. There are public car parks at both the top and bottom of Chapel Hill.

By Foot we are fairly unmissable, at the Chapel Hill end of St John’s Road in Stansted. Come down Chapel Hill from Cambridge Road, or up Chapel Hill from Lower Street."

"You can get to Stansted by train – the station is on the Liverpool Street to Cambridge line. Come out of the station, turn left up Chapel Hill, and St John’s Road is about half way up."
