Brief description

"Community is at the heart of everything we do, and our spacious Community Centre on Central Street enables us and other organisations to offer services and activities for those who need them at little or no cost. Our aim is to improve the quality of lives for people living in our area of benefit (details below) and break down barriers, particularly for the most vulnerable. We have measures in place to make our Centre Covid-secure.

We have a daily Lunch Club for anyone over 55 living in Islington, with a healthy, subsidised three-course lunch. We have a programme of free after school classes for children, including cookery, table tennis, gardening, art and dance. We also have daily activities for adults including employment support, sewing, line-dancing, art, table tennis, walking and much more. We also run many one-off events and activities for locals. Click here to find out what is happening and follow us on social media.

We have large and small rooms for getting people together, and facilities that enable us to run varied events, an online centre with free WiFi and much more for all ages. We have a fully-equipped Cookery School, which can be hired out, with all the income going back into classes to teach the local community about healthy home cooking on a budget and avoiding food waste.

We also work outside in the community supporting other groups and running community events. We can assist with applications for Cloudesley welfare grants for those struggling with long-term health problems. Please call our Helpline for information."
