Brief description

St Mary the Virgin is a Church of England parish church and Grade I listed building in the town of Wirksworth, Derbyshire. The existing church building dates back to the 13th century, and was restored in 1870 by Sir Gilbert Scott, one of the most prolific Gothic Revival architects of the 19th century.

Take the A6 slip road to Matlock/Allestree/Quarndon/Duffield/University. Continue onto King Street/A6. Continue to follow the A6 for 0.3 miles. Keep right to continue on West Ave/A6 for 1.5 miles. At Palm Ct Island, take the 3rd exit onto Duffield Road/A6. Continue to follow the A6 for 2.2 miles. Turn left onto Broadway/B5023. Continue to follow the B5023 for 5.1 miles.
