The church sits on raised ground and there are several steps, with handrails, up to the front door. There are no toilets at this church.

St Mary's church was built in 1844, with a single-bay double-height lower chancel to the east having a single-bay single-story lean-to vestry to the south-east and a single-bay single-story advanced porch to the west. The church was disused in 1973, but was returned to use, post-1973.
